I think we like Russel and Claire because Russel felt like some sort of 'soulmate'; he was an artist and outsider too. And Claire was much happier then.

GABE!!!! I loved Gabe!!! Gabe was messed up but I loved him anyway!! Does Claire just believe he is dead or is he actually dead?

Gab had more than "dangerous charm" going for him. He was a tragic figure, doomed from the start. His brother's death made him a powerful and unforgettable character, that I couldn't forget. I prefered Gab and Claire to her other "loves". He just moved me (especially when he broke down in Claire's arms after his brother's father came to the funeral and all but blamed him for his brother's death) in a way no other had...

yeah, exactly! i also loved how russell was sort of different from all the other guys shes dated (not into drugs, not masculine, not driven by testosterone).
