On the day before the Convention, the protests start out peacefully enough. Despite an overwhelming police presence, courageous protesters still manage to speak out on a wide variety of issues. But has a collision course already been set?
Yeagh sure, but you forget that the courts use the INTERPRETATION of the law and they will interpret it to their advantage. Its simple for them. Read up on the law first and learn what the words mean in legalese (their language) dont want to hang yourself, its a good idea though.
Because of the escalation in police force and to some degree brutality I think in the US protestors should enlist the assistance of their local militias during protests. One veteran soldier who was protesting recently in NYCity had his head crushed by a police man on horseback. I do not know if dressing in similar garb is a crime here, they are technically not impersonating until they state/imply they are an officer of the law.
I think there are laws against inpersonating a police officer in the US, not sure, certainly is in this country(UK). Better look it up before you do. Perhap the item could be a smaller batton ;-)
Protesters should dress in similar clothes to the riot law agents. In my opinion if the police dress like protestors and assimilate into the protest line to incite violence, the best stategy would be to dress like the police to blend with them, then they would have to figure out if they are attacking a comrade or an actual protester. Actual protesters could have some slight item or mark so they would be privy to the difference(perhaps like a club stamp-with what their protesting)
The whole point was to intimidate and it worked! No wide-scale rioting, very little property damage, the average citizen was able to enjoy being on the streets of downtown Denver, and the whiners were able to express their opinions, regardless of how inane they might have been. Stop your bitchin'.
This is not anarchy, sbcioch, it's righteous protest against a corrupt government and, among other things, its unconstitutional sponsorship of corporatism over the civil liberties of the people.
This is the Constitutional exercise of free speech.
Anarchists are idiots. They only support a police state by being violent and taking over the street. If they protested lawfully, the government wouldn't spend so much on law enforcement!
Are those Blackwater troops hired to patrol the streets? I have been reading about them. This is scary stuff. They look like or remind me of Nazi storm troopers.
