this was the glory days of com. aviation IMO. The great planes such as 727, L-1011, DC 9, MD-11 and DC-10.......I miss those planes.

For some reason this plane was always a comfort when you knew she was going to be your aircraft for a trip.
That was back in the days when the airlines appreciated your business and flying was a joy not an overwhelming task.

I remember taking one from ATL to DFW and there were 40 people on board, it was being moved there for an early flight out of DFW (Hawaii?). The day had been incredibly hot and humid and when the engines were fired and the A/C came on, condensation came pouring out of the vents like the fog machine at some all night rave. The thing rattled and clattered down the runway and seemed to articulated like a centipede as each 50 feet section or so lifted off the ground. Disconcerting!
