I don't think there will ever be anything that comes close to these two. They are one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen and always will be. I miss them!

While other pair skaters toss themselves up in staged performances, Sergi was extremely gentle with his wife, it was so lovely to look at even if he picks her up. You could see the romance budding in this and all the other performances. In Gordeeva and Grinkov's performance, it wasn't staged. It was GENUINE!!!!!

They were my favorite skating team also. My heart broke when he died. But to the person who lost interest in skating afterwards, I have to suggest watching 2010 Ice Dancing champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. They remind me of G & G in their musicality, incredible technical ability, and the fantastic chemistry between the two of them.

They were my favorites! My love of ice skating died with Sergei. :(

I suppose it was too perfect. What if one night before a performance they'd had an argument, like normal couples do, and then they tried to skate this? It would have been impossible! Luckily, there was never anything wrong between them, nothing but absolute happiness and love. Which was even more extraordinary than their skating...

i've been watching figure skating for decades and I think this may be my single favorite program of all time in any of the skating disciplines.

Today is the fifteenth anniversary of Sergei's death. It doesn't seem as if it's been that long. G&G= The best that ever was, the best that ever will be. R.I.P. Sergei, you are missed.

No. Sergei and Katia's last performance (in front of an audience) was on November 12, 1995 (just 8 days before Sergei died) at Skates of Gold III. They skated to "Out of Tears" and Verdi's "Requiem." Their last televised performance, however, was Pocahontas, but this performance actually ocurred during the summer of 1995 (it didn't air on TV until after Sergei's death, as did the skates of gold performances). Hope that helps!
