one other thing i forgot, renji can only attack 3 times before he has to retract zabimaru. in bankai, zabimaru is infinitely extended.

Its not useless at all. First, he can wrap himself in zabimaru to defend against almost anything. second, he can only do Hikotsu Taihou (Baboon Bone Cannon) while in bankai. Also in bankai, his range and power goes to ridiculous extremes, and he can reuse his weapon if it breaks apart, as opposed to shikai, once it breaks, theres nothing he can really do except Higa Zekkou.

well let me put it this way !
its like ichigo when he activated his bankai for teh first time he only got extrme speed etc but he could not do anything special thou he had bankai but when the hallow ichigo used the bankai he was able to do big time specials
just like Byakuya Kuchiki said "you might have been able to do bankai but it will still take u another 10 years to be able to master it :) so i dont think renjis bankai is useless :) wait and see :D
