my great grandmother was born in 1920 so she would be about 18 years old then..and she is 91 and still kicking so maybe some of them are living with all the medicine and stuff we have today..

@HotButterOnToast the definition of love is affection, devotion, fidelity, loyalty adoration, Lust- urge, greed, craving, wanton lewd, animal, unmoral, immoral. That's the difference between then and now. People distinguished it then. Now we mix it all up. Just like parents with children. Back then the parent was different to the child. Now it's all the same and you can't tell the difference between both. In these times there's no line no distinction in most things. We are a product of our time

@fashionhistorylover My mistake. I didn't mean to respond to you.
These films make me sad. The women look so happy and young and vibrant. Then, I think of the year and realize that most of them have probably passed away....

My dad was a teenager in the 1950's. He says you go out presentable. You were a gentlemen and you were taught to be one very young. He says it was a romantic era. To go out with your lady, just to hold hands with her were the kind of relationships then. Men never saw or even thought of women in a sexual way. He says women were truly beautiful then. Men during that time got married and started a family at a young age. Women never traveled alone. Innocence... a very disciplined time indeed.
