I opened my mouth wider and laughed even more hysterically. Joe grabbed my hand and pulled me through the rose garden. After dancing and talking for a while, wed slipped out the back and wandered through the garden under the beautiful nighttime sky. Joe sat on a bench, and I did the same. He looked at me, seriously, and placed a hand on my knee.
'Im assuming you know that were expected to get married.' He said awkwardly. I nodded and smiled.
'Joseph, at first I wasnt so sure about you. But youre a decent man, you know that?'
He answered, 'Why thank you. Youre a beautiful young lady, yourself.' I blushed at this. This was really the first time Id ever gotten a compliment from a man other than my father.
When I least expected it he asked me, 'Demetria? Would you mind if I kissed you?' I was at a loss for words. I managed an ok as he leaned forwards towards me. When our lips touched it was like a spark of electricity running through my body. His smooth lips against mine, was a feeling Id imagined for a long time. He brought his hand up to my cheek as he kissed me. When I pulled away I let out a long exhale.
'Was that okay?' he asked me. It was only right for a gentleman to make sure that he hadnt disrespected his woman. 'Of course.' I breathed. I put my hands on his shoulders and felt a sudden surge. I gracefully smashed my lips against his again and with that, his hands wandered all over my body. I felt our lips part as he looked at me with wide eyes.
'Come with me, Joseph.' I laughed as I pulled his hand. We went through the back door and up the back stairs. As I ran down the hallway, I heard a voice and looked at Joe, eyes wide. We werent supposed to leave the ballroom, our parents orders. He opened a random door-one with white woodwork and a brass handle- and we ran inside. He quietly closed the door and we waited, our breathing heavy from running. I put a hand over my mouth to make my noises silence. As the talking got louder, it soon passed. He opened the door and peered out. When the coast was clear, I pushed the door open and we ran the rest of the way back to my room. Once we were in there, I pushed Joe against a wall, lightly and playfully. He put a hand on the back of my head and I kissed him. I felt like I needed to be with him now, more than ever. I wrapped my hands around his neck, but he didn't move much more. I could tell he didn't want to go too far, and disrespect me.
'Joe, its okay.' I nodded at him.
'You're sure?' he asked, his eyebrows lowering.
'Absolutely.' I backed up with him as we fell onto the bed. He pressed his lips to my neck and I smiled. This was new to both of us, so as he pulled his tie and jacket off, I struggled with my dress zipper. He unbuttoned his shirt and laid it on the end of the bed. He came behind me and slowly unzipped my dress, revealing my back. I turned toward him and he slipped the straps of my dress down my arms slowly. As he did this I unbuckled his belt and pants. Once my dress was off-and I was totally naked- he laid next to me. We both knew how much trouble wed get in if we were caught, but we didn't care. I pulled his pants off and kissed his upper lip. He put his arms around me and rolled over so he was on top. I moved with mouth open in closed, in sync with his own lips. Our bodies were rubbing against each other and as I was getting used to the tingly sensation in my stomach from his soft touch, he pushed himself in me slowly. I let out a very quiet and soft gasp, pulling away from the beautiful kiss. He extended his neck and kissed me again. He pulled out, then in deeper yet. I felt sick to my stomach, sure I would barf. But just as he entered me again, I smiled because the feeling passed. I raised my arms over my head, a rested them on his chest. He pulled out and just laid on top of me for a second, catching his breath once again. I looked over at the clock hanging on the wall. It was half past midnight.
I looked over and smiled at Joseph. 'I love you.' I said, almost completely a whisper. He nodded at me and grinned. 'I love you too.'
