For first day of easter. Martin Luther, the eight verses of the hymn, 1524 (Wackernagel, III, #15)
First annual cycle (Leipzig 1723-24)

Verse 1 (S, A, T, B):
Christ lay to death in bondage,
For all our sin was given;
He is once more arisen
And hath us brought true life now;
For this shall we joyful be,
God giving praise and gratitude
And singing hallelujah.
Hallelujah!

  • @claviolino Well done. !!Better laugh than mock.

  • The very best of the best composer of all time.

  • @ShinyShiranai "Allah" breve exists only in islamic countries! ;-)

  • You can barely hear anything besides the soprano. The bass in particular is near inaudible.

  • The allah breve is supposed to be about twice as fast as the original tempo (temp A), but the original tempo was taken quite fast so it was a small shock when I heard this

  • Realmente magnifico.Lembro-me quando fiz parte do Madrigal Guanabara 1975,RJ.Maestro João Batista Genúncio.

  • This is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!
