I first read about the Dils in a book by Richie Unterberger ('Unknown Legends of Rock 'n Roll'). Despite thinking I was well-versed in punk history, I had never heard of them! It's sad that punk's truly unique and innovative bands are so often brushed aside for recycled detritus.
I'm glad to see that their stage performances had a level of intensity that fit the music. I look forward to tracking down more.

Amazing! I was actually at this show in 1979. We spent a lot of time at the Paradise Island, or Rock Island as it became. What a dive. Loved the Dils. Wonder what became of Legionier's Disease, AK-47, and the Red Rockers. The Hates are still alive and playing minimalist punk, I believe. Different times.
