The track is from 'Copy Cats' by Johnny Thunders & Patti Palladin FREUDCD020, which was reissued in April 07; the 'Crawfish' duet precedes it on 7" & download. That album, meticulously produced by Patti, covers songs from the 50's & 60's from their NY youth - "actually better than the originals" said John Peel. "Contender for coolest covers album of all time" said Uncut.

@penthouse10 I think its just because his back catalogue is sooooo extensive, its hard to stop when there are literally a thousand songs, with at least a thousand different versions each.. As an artist Johnny put out alot of material, and was known for being pro bootlegging of any and all live material.. Johnny left us with a vast amount of footage, and audio that will keep us close to him and his music forever.. I'm never lonely when I have a record player and Thunders.

I've been a Johnny Thunders and New York Dolls guy since 1973.

I found this song 'I Was Born To Cry' when I bought Tav Falco's Shadow Dancer album. I just loved this song, and never ever knew til now that Johnny did it.

This song just seems made for him.

He's just another great talent that couldn't beat his addiction. Amy Winehouse died today and she was head and shoulders above so many others.

I was listening to Pipeline by Johnny the other day. Rocking.

@Prowinzling Don't know why you're dissing The Hives. Fact: The Hives are probably THE best live band operating today! Fact: The Hives are well known in their love for classic 50s and 60s rock n' roll! Fact: This song was done well before JT and was made popular by Dion and the Belmonts. Fact: I'd says The Hives were probably covering Dion. Fact: it doesn't really matter though cause The Hives are the best punk rock band right now (real old-school punk rock). Fact: Lady Gaga.
