  • GPS (kln90b) on this particular plane

  • I agree but.... armed for T/O if there is any delay before advancing the pwr levers it will be ticking away, then upon landing when you close the pwr levers it will be ticking away again untill you turn it off. Do this 15 takeoff and landings a day and you will find you will go thru igniters at a much greater rate than if you were to turn them on when needed. I do use them on shitty days in turb and heavy rain, but on nice days, I dont. Happy?

  • curious to know why your auto ignition off? it's supposed to be armed on take off, and left on until after landing

  • said who? you will burn out your igniters doing that.

  • Eng. anti ice on, auto ignition off, windshield heat off, prop heat off, fuel vent heat on, std. three/alt static on.. kind of an odd combo, but otherwise good vid!

  • Yip, coming in to land. Anti-ice on for the runway. No need for auto ign, wshield or prop heats. Fuel vent and pitots on every flight. Unless you fly differently nothing is odd, good spotting tho

  • Fantastic quality. Very readable. Thanks. A+++

  • @mattathm Dont really get how this will it burn out your igniters? They go off once you power up past a certain power setting. Our FSI checklist leaves them on from taking the runway to leaving the runway.

  • Like flightgear!!!!!!

  • @patsmithj

It's all VOR to VOR and GPS. There is no FMS in these aircraft. The lower screen you see (The EFIS) will show VOR's and waypoints along with TCAS.

  • Does this plane have an fmc or does it use a gps?

  • Although I also do agree with you that its more critical to use them in heavy precip conditions for example.

  • Sorry, I'm not trying to sound like an ass or anything. In fact I enjoy talking about these kinds of things as long as its civilized. In any case during a before take-off checklist, arming the auto-ignition is usually part of the below the lines, or line up portion of the checklist, so the time taken between arming the ignition and advancing power for take-off has almost a negligible effect on the igniters. Right after landing, disengaging the auto ignition is one of the first after land checks

  • How will you burn out your igniters? When the auto ignition is armed, it will only ignite when torque falls below 500-550 ft/lbs torque (700-750 on the D model). Igniters will burn out if you leave the IGNITION switch on, not your auto ignition switch.
