  • why the crappy framerate? i heard that irrlicht is one of the fastest graphics API arround.

  • i actually recorded this with camtasia. the reason its so laggy is because i was running it on my integrated vide card with very little memory left for camtasia to record. you can try the game for your self if you want. i've also posted the source on the irrlicht forums its not fancy but its a great example of how to get newton to work with irrlicht.

  • Why does anyone make anything? Is it just fraps/your video capture being choppy or is Newton hogging the cpu? I know Irrlicht itself can handle a lot more than this.

  • Dude thanks for the source code! I was wanting to learn some C++ to use Irrlicht and you just gave a source to a pre-made "fps engine"!

  • thats why i prefer PhysX with hardware acceleration. I can spawn a 1000 boxes in debug build without any lag (using ogre3d and physx). It's pretty nice

  • Yeah, it is (to both). Besides, my guess is that Newton is to blame for the framerate.
