On June 30th, Israeli navy boats forcibly stopped the Spirit of Humanity, a Free Gaza ship en route to the besieged Gaza Strip, kidnapping all 21 human rights activists and crew on board and taking them to an Israeli prison. The human rights workers were held without charge and deported to their countries of origin.
This was to be Free Gaza's 8th mission. 5 missions successfully reached Gaza, bringing people of all ages and all walks of life, from countries around the world, to stand in solidarity with the 1.5 million Palestinians locked in the Strip under siege.
The IOF navy forcibly stopped 2 Free Gaza missions before this latest criminal abduction. In December, IOF navy boats rammed a Free Gaza vessel en route to Gaza. In January, the IOF navy prevented a Free Gaza vessel, at gunpoint from reaching Gaza.
This video is in commemoration of previous successful Free Gaza voyages, but also to recognize Israel's illegal actions against unarmed civilians bringing aid to Gaza: threatening, beating, kidnapping, and deporting without any legal charges. The video shows footage from different Free Gaza voyages which reached the Strip, as well as footage from the departure of the last Free Gaza ship, "Spirit of Humanity" which never reached Gaza, due to IOF navy interference and abduction. Footage of the IOF naval boats thanks to ISM-Gaza Strip.
