Yes for sure, gay people do understand what it is to have all those vulnerabilities of being different. As I keep seeing the word lately, "kudos" Thank you for being there for me over the years. I am pretty quick to forget how well I always have been treated by gays. :)

nihilists make me laugh. Truth is life is about learning and pursuing the positive for yourself unless your a vitriol spewing troll (see below).

Everyone helps in ways they can but it's up to each individual to take on each day. One at a time and know that time heals. Not all wounds though as shown by the troll below.

Ultimately, we are on our own but it definitely gets better. We need to get started.

Your judgements are unfounded and based on nothing but speculation. You don't know any of us and have no idea what we've gone through or how we conduct ourselves on a daily basis. I suggest that instead of leaving hateful comments on youtube, you go out and do something useful, spend your time on making this world a better place, as we are trying to do.

And I know for a fact that I do my utmost to help the people who I know are struggling, no matter what their age or gender or social status or path in life.  Because I know how it is to live in the soul's dark places, and I know how hard it is to walk through them to find the light. Making this video, sharing our stories, this is just one small part of what we're doing to help. Every day.

ItsMendes - you are missing the point of this video, and of this project. Of course we cannot prove that it gets better for absolutely everyone.  But the It Gets Better project is an attempt to show kids that for many of us - and seriously, look at the number of videos that have been posted to see just how many of us feel this way - it has gotten better. And that there IS hope, there is a way out, that all things are possible.
