This video is of the first flight of our homemade helicopter tail gyro on an OS37 powered Century Hawk 30. We used this helicopter as its old and no longer really flown, and as such has become a dedicated test machine.

Wed not flown this helicopter for a while, and had forgotten how underpowered and sloppy these old 30 sized helis can be! Nevertheless it will make a useful test bed as so far the gyro hasnt been flown on anything that generates any realistic level of vibration.

The gyro is based on an 800 degree/s CRG20 sensor and the control loop processing is managed by a dsPIC30F3013.
