@Kane5565 --- You are aware that it's epaper, right? You know all about epaper, why it's used at all? Now, if you know that relative to other epaper displays this one blows, I'd like to hear more, but if you're comparing epaper to an LCD that's like comparing pumpkins and tuesdays (two completely unrelated things)

the Nook therefore outperforms the iPad when considering many cases of reading ebooks. The Nook isn't meant for use as a web browser/netbook type gadget. As such it's finely tuned only to the job it's meant for and also since it requires less hardware, it costs a lot less. Now, if you are interested in a ipad only to add ebooks to your world, then I'd encourage you to reconsider something like a nook. You can use the savings to buy an ipod touch for the same overall price.. Depends on ur goals

@DocDawning wow your going to deffend this to the tooth and nail arnt you, what im saying is ya ok its power consumption is minimal, ya its focus on just reading, however the delay for formatting and processing your touch are horrendous. i admit the ipad is expensive however the HP Slate is supposed to be close to 300 and for little more than what id drop on this i get a multi functional windows 7 enabled tablet, nuff said.

@Kane5565 --- I agree performance matters.. But the thing is that there are many many ways of measuring performance. epaper, is a very different kind of display tech than LCDs. The nook includes a little LCD for locating books and so on.. But the main display is epaper. epaper LOOKS like real paper. The contrast therefore is on par with ambient light. Much easier on eyes. Also, epaper only needs power to change the display contents - so a page can stay 'open' at no power cost. So....

@DocDawning no actually i havnt looked into epaper, you can enlighten me if you want however the fact is the performance alone is a major selling point of any product, and this items performance is well... bad.

@DocDawning lmao no thx, you can plainly see the display is shit, its response is laggy and from the 2 star rating almost everyone finds this to be crap. Get the apple ipad or the HP Slate
