I don't know how this song is nowhere to be found... it's from the opening credits of this really obscure live-action/cartoon from 1975 called "Coonskin" by Ralph Bakshi (Lord of the Rings, Fire & Ice, Coolworld, Fritz the Cat...)
The movie never published a soundtrack, so this song pretty much doesn't exist, and it sucks because this was the only thing I took from the whole film. It's addicting! It's hoppin'! And catchy as fuck!

I hope y'all dig it as much as I've been!

  • Thanks for putting this up. I love this song. The more politically correct would call me racist, but I see the satire and social commentary in the lyrics.

Scatman Crothers is a damn good singer, and I love his voice when it comes to voice acting.

    Two thumbs up to you.

  • Great song. This movie was way ahead of its time for sure. Bakshi is one of my favorite animators as well.

  • @CartoonFan56 You know, when you preface your statement with "Hey call me a racist" chances are you might be or maybe you're just an insensitive asshole. I'm not saying you're racist for liking this song but I take issue with people who have a problem with political correctness; you forget such things are necessary to keep the rampant racism that festers in American society. I would much rather live in a politically correct society rather than the institutional racism that existed decades ago.

  • I SEARCHED NIGGA MAN

  • the guy singing was the voice of hong kong phooey.

  • @LiveFromWonderland OH YES, it's been released for a while now and you best get a copy just in case because releases can come and go (case in point Ken Russell's Salome). I'd hate to have you miss out on having this in yr collection. Digital does have it's benefits and some things are now avail in the ether on Netflix (case in point Ken Russell's Salome). Happy Holidays Wonderland, treat yrself

  • @houseofgogo I think most people got it. It was really just Al Sharpton and his followers who had such a problem. Unfortunately, they were loud enough to drown this movie out into obscurity. BUT: Apparently it's about to have its first official DVD release. Maybe there is hope for the world after all!
