In 1967 the area was completely rebuilt with new rides and scenery. The original layout was demolished, and a new set of buildings was erected. The addition of the Carousel theater (Carousel of Progress), Flight to the Moon building, the Adventure Thru Inner Space building, a new Circle-Vision building, and the PeopleMover/Rocket Jets platform, gave Tomorrowland the "World on the Move" theme.

  • This is by far the best version of the Carousel of Progress. Disneyland really deserves to have another show in the carousel building. Innoventions doesn't even come close to the quality of C.O.P. or America Sings!

  • Did anyone notice the guy at 5:05 sitting on the rim of the PeopleMover pod? Betcha no one yelled over the PA system to tell him to 'sit proper' ...;-)

  • @7777futurama I'd take this rumor with a grain of salt, but rumor has it that the Carousel of Progress may or may not be coming back to Disneyland. At least that's what the people at the Disney Family Museum in San Francisco say.

  • Why does the sound get all garbled every now and again?

  • That City of Tomorrow model was the coolest thing

  • @eyeontheempire Right, they can't say "Merry Christmas" but they can decorate the whole park with Christmas decorations and change two rides to have a christmas theme...

  • I Love This Version of the Carousel of Progress! Which That Could Restore in It's 1967 Form and Bring Back to Disneyland!

  • Too bad re:"Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", one of Richard M. and Robert B.Sherman's most chatchiest songs [did they EVER do one I didn't like, to quote Will Rogers?:)], all THAT needs is to have Jimmy Durante sings, as he was still in showbiz then, and would be the only improvement. Umbriago! Cantcha just imagine him high steppin';, singing "There's a great big.. end of every day HOTCHACHACHA!" But it's tremendous the way it is.:-)

  • @MrDisneyguy true, but the new song is totally rewritten

  • lol you won't hear disney wishing you a "merry christmas" anymore. mustn't hurt anyone's feelings!

  • The Cicrle-Vision screens show Fantasy On Parade 1966.

  • I always loved the light show 3D screen prior to COP main show. You can barely see it here.
