Gary Numan performing "We Are So Fragile" at the Melbourne show on March 7, 2009 (The Forum). Watch in HIGH DEFINITION!
Unlike my Sydney recordings, the audio for the Melbourne show is a little bit more difficult to hear (particularly the vocals), but the video is absolutely great. Some of the vocals are easier to hear than others. I think it had something to do with this particular venue's acoustics, and because I was right at the front.
Yes, the old Tubeway Punk spirit comes back here - love it when he thrashes out on his Gibson axe. The lyrics "we are so unnatural but you wouldnt understand you only deal with men" always killed me.

Well, I'M OLD! Cos I don't know what a Paul Reed Smith is! The Les Paul did (and does) produce dynamic, thunderous sound. If you watch Gary play live, he hits a few power chords and does some psychedelic stuff. Hmm... who used to make psychedelic sounds with a Les Paul? Anyhoo, he's had the thing since he was a child, and he's attached to it.

Good to see he has his Gibson back. It had been busted into a few pieces and Gary wasn't happy about it. He's had the same guitar since he was 16. It's still the guitar he uses live and in the studio. Can't beat a Gibson. The show in Melbourne was incredible. As a transplanted American, I was surprised at the knowledge and enthusiasm of the Aussie crowd. Gary has been missing from Australia for 29 years. I guess you guys were hungry! I hope he comes back! I think he will. You Aussies kicked ass.
