@broadwayboricua oh lord, i can understand the criticism but to say it was "self-indulgent nonsense" is just doing too much. You all know this gospel song is as common as people singing Whitney's version of "I Will Always Love You", so musicians want to spice it up here and there. Was it necessary for performance? No. But was it self-indulgent? Not really.
