that´s magical! i started playing this yesterday, it´s so difficult! how many years before this video did you start playing? i really wish i could play so...♥

I don't necessarily believe that making criticisms about Galway's playing is in indication of him as a bad player. And that doesn't necessarily have to call into question the career or lack thereof of any flutist.
I too find his vibrato to be a bit too expressive, but that's characteristic of his sound. Virtually all the pieces have the same exact vibrato.... so I don't think he can help that. hahah!

oh tisk tisk tisk.............. we are so perfect in every way?
Face it....... Galway has had and will continue to have a fantastic career. How about you?????
-
Too bad he lays on the vibrato so heavy...it COULD be perfect.
-
at the beginning it is already too loud
so it can't make a very clear different feeling between the middle part with the beginning
Galway's and Dufour's performances of this movement are my absolute favorite! It's so hard to play this movement beautifully, and they really make the Cantilena sing effortlessly. Stunning!
