Sheriff says he won't enforce President's gun plan

A Northern Michigan sheriff may find himself in a tough spot, having to weigh his oath of office to uphold the Constitution versus following the President's call for a ban on "assault weapons" and high capacity magazines. Benzie County sheriff Ted Schendel explains his concerns with the President's actions saying "he is trying to go forward and limit or circumvent the 2nd amendment by restricting assault style weapons and 30 round magazines. I took an oath of office to uphold and defend the Constitution. Any law that the federal government passes which circumvents our 2nd amendment, I will not abide by, and I will not enforce."

Settling like what, America has had a Assault weapons ban before how come people weren't up in arms back then? How come no one was bitching about the 2nd Amendment and crying about police states? Just because the government has too much tech and power, and have successfully created a police state, that does not not make ME a traitor. Our forefathers spoke against a police state with every bit of the constitution. That makes our coporate puppet politicians the traitors, not me. In the words of my dearly departed grandmother, "All politicians are evil. Voting is NOW only about exercising our right to vote lest they take it away, and trying to choose the lesser of two evils."
