Human Metabolism-Zoe Lau and Kristina Lee

For our culminating project we decided to discuss the topic of human metabolism. We made six connections tot he grade twelve chemistry course.

They are:
1. Chapter 5: Energy and Change, the thermodynamics and thermochemistry behind metabolism

2. Chapter 6: Rates of Chemical Reactions, how the rate of human metabolism controlled

3. Chapter 1: Classifying Organic Compounds/Chapter 2: Reactions of Organic Compounds/Chapter 4: Structure and Properties of Substances, the structures of the essential organic compounds involved in human metabolism

4. Chapter 10: Oxidation-Reduction Reactions, Oxidation-reduction reactions involved in metabolism

5.Chapter 7: Reversible Reactions and Chemical Equilibrium, The application of Le Chatelier's principle to blood

6. Chapter 8: Acids and Bases, insufficient supply of oxygen during metabolism and how acids are invovled
