Frank Sinatra
Reprise Recordings
(Walter Donaldson)
[Recorded May 11, 1966, Hollywood]
You, you're driving me crazy
What did I do? What ever did I do?
My tears for you, they make everything hazy
Clouding the skies that used to be blue
How true were the friends who were near me
To cheer me, believe me, they knew
But you, you were the kind who would hurt me
Desert me when I needed you
Yes you, you are driving me crazy
What did I do, did I do to you?
How true were the friends who were near me
To cheer me, believe me, they knew
But you were the kind who would hurt me
Desert me when I needed you
Yes you, baby, you, you're are driving me crazy
What did I do? Tell me what did I do?
Please, what did I do to you?
@tmwood0410 @mrcole92 @jasong146 The 'slip up' @ 1:45 was intentional. I heard DJ Sid Mark talk about it some years ago... Growing up, Frank loved a vaudeville comedian (the name slips my mind unfortunately) whose tag line was "You hoit me! Hoit me!" Frank threw in this little homage to this comedian spontaneously during one of the takes, & they decided to go with it...

Guys...Frank was a one take actor. When it came to recording an ALBUM, alot of his songs were 5-20 takes. He wanted his songs to be PERFECT. Now on this very song, he left it as is, on purpose. because this was the best take he had on this song.

@mrcole92 I noticed that as well the first time I heard this song. Frank was never one to do multiple takes. He wanted to do it once and be done. I guess he was hoping this one wouldn't get noticed :)
