The NYU College of Dentistry Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program is providing oral health care to more than 500 children and adults in Machias, Maine on October 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9. The NYU College of Dentistry Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program provides oral health care education, emergency dental services, screenings, prevention, sealant application, and restorative treatment to underserved communities throughout the United States and Latin America. In addition, the program works to implement a sustainable oral health system in each targeted community.

The NYU College of Dentistry Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program is the result of a partnership between NYU College of Dentistry, Henry Schein and local partners in each targeted community. Henry Schein Cares, the Company's corporate social responsibility program, provides all of the dental supplies used by the program's missions for each of the programs taking place throughout the year. In Machias the NYU College of Dentistry Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program collaborated with the Washington County Children's Program (WCCP), their "Tooth Ferry" mobile dental van, and Caring Hands of Maine, a non-profit dental clinic in Ellsworth. Delta Dental Plan of Maine is the primary funder of this program.

Participating dental team volunteers from the NYU College of Dentistry Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program include NYU faculty, residents, and students of dentistry and dental hygiene, thereby enriching the professional experience of the students and faculty while providing quality service experience for patients.
