I do say in the first screen that its a "developmental disability" I used that because that is what the general population uses to describe it... but as you can see the rest of the video goes to great lengths to show that it is not a "disability" in the terms of hindering his life, or disabling him from life.

The images and clips in this video are from a period spanning 5 years. He is now 6 years old.

About the cans and rubber mallet:
Like many kids on the spectrum Andrew has Sensory Processing Disorder as well. He loves to smash things, its loud, it provides physical feedback and its fun.

Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability we face today.
The cause of Autism is unknown.
1 in every 150 children in America has Autism.

Our son is one of them.

Our son is just like your child.
He explores and is curious about the world around him.
He plays, he runs, he laughs, he loves.
He goes to school, he learns, he has friends.
Sometimes he is serious and sometimes he feels alone...
but he is never really alone.

Our son has Autism.
Our son is perfect.

    My son is also autistic.

    I love him so much.

He have no words but he loves music.

He teaches us around him, how lovely the world is.

We learn to see it like he do!

  • @Kristine233 i just want to say to you god bless you for putting up your video of your son it takes a lot of courage to deal with people who are negative who watch videos and say things that they know nothing about i also have a daughter with autism and i believe they are a gift from god

  • This is a very well put together video. You have a very beautiful family. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

  • mercury is linked to autism!!! dont eat too much fish, especially tuna, swordfish, or dolphin... its very bad, mercury does neurological damage, and it is not treatable!!! this scares me because there is so many more autistic kids and ones with down syndrome than there was....... i believe most of it is linked to too much mercury. dont tempt fate dont eat fish.... if you dont believe me go to gotmercury, com it lets you see what your mercury intake is from the fish that you eat/.....

  • He seems perfectly normal to me... hmm

  • Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your family life and sharing such wonderful pictures and a wonderful video. I am a father of an 11 year old son who is also autistic. He is asperger's and is very bright. You have a beautiful family.

    May God Bless you all.

  • It's not a good idea to give a little kid a mallet that size. It could rebound when he's aiming at the cans and smack him right between the eyes.
