Texas as always been a metaphor and symbol of American strength and independence. As a Virginian I say God bless the Republic of Texas.

JapanMan there is no such thing as a Texas Stereotype....we just don't like people coming here and tellin us how to live our lives. Another ignorant out sider making assumptions when he doesn't know a thing about us.

Im an Aussie. And I had the privelege of visitng Texas in 2003. Even did the Dallas Becomes Chicago Pub Crawl with some wickedly beautiful Texan ladies who seemed to love the old aussie accent. Loved the food the country the people and The Alamo... the best monument in the US. Thos Noo Yerkers can have the bloody french present (lady Liberty) but Texas with the alamo you have something that is uniquely yours and yours alone!!! REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!

Tradercris you need to read up on your history. By the time the civil war was fought Emily Morgan Jones, was back east and a free woman. The Battle of San Jacinto took place in 1836 AFTER the Alamo. Emily Morgan laid her life on the line and interfered with Santa Ana plans and kept him distracted long enough for Sam Houston n his boys to get there and open a can of whup ass on him. Emily Morgan is a heroine in Texas.

tradercris, boy do you need a history lesson regarding your Gen. Grant. If the war was over slavery then answer me why your Gen. Grant owned slaves? Why would he crush a rebellion and end slavery when he owned them himself? Quit buying into this "yankee" rewritten history and go read about what the War of Northern Aggression was really all about.

not the Alamo, but the battle of San Jacinto. That's when Houston crushed Santy Anny
Very nice music. The slide show gives an idea of what is going on while the music is playing. I would have loved to hear Michael Murphey's singing. Good instruments tho. Thx for posting. There are not enough videos with Michael's music on YouTube.
