Not sure of exact recording date at the moment, somewhere in the early 1960's.

This is a record documenting the various music boxes within the "A. Hacker Music Box Collection", and it was recorded with a "Telefunken" U-47 studio microphone, which fed into a full track mono, "Ampex 300" series of vacuum tube recorder used extensively from 1949(When it was introduced, and replaced the 200 model.), and throughout the 1950's and 60's.

Early 1960's, "Hacker Music Box 13993".

SONGS ON THIS SIDE : Carnival Of Venice / Magic Flute / El Puritana / Pride Of The Ball / Glow Worm / Tyrolean And His Child / Forsaken, Forsaken / Ben Bolt / Brahms Lullaby / Brahms Lullaby(With Mechanical Singing Birds) / La Traviata / Wedding Of The Winds.

The flip side has "Christmas" Holiday songs on it, and I will post that side around "Thanksgiving" time, 2011.

Transferred to digital using stereo gear in background photo.

  • Now for all those who are listening, the "La Traviata" is an opera and the song from the opera that is played is "The Drinking Song".

  • I have this too! Love hearing it as it was brand new! Thanks for posting!
