The first single from Blondie's second album, Eat To The Beat, released in 1979. The song reached #2 in the UK charts, #27 in the USA. In the mid-1980's, Debra Harry's partner, Chris Stein developed a rare skin disorder, and Harry took a few years off to care for him. Blondie returned with the 1999 hit "Maria." Dreaming is Free has been covered by The Smashing Pumpkins, Yo La Tengo, and many other bands.
