1) It's an EVA thruster pack for zero-gee environments, not a jetpack.
2) Onyx was destroyed, the Micro Dyson Sphere is only a few meters in diameter in normal space.

When Reach was released i was disapointed that Bungie abandoned the books, the books like 'Fall of Reach' and 'Ghosts of Onyx' don't go with the game. I'm not gunna say any spiolers about the books but I was really dissapointed at this
