Shelby comes home and tells me the world history text is the bible and she has to memorize and be tested on it. BS.

Well alittle bit of God being taught might be better than the beevis and butthead, jackass teaching that they evidently get at home. ITs called a well rounded education. Dont fire the teacher, fire the parents.

@gerty335 who's teaching beavis and butthead and/or jackass? pretty judgemental of you. we don't even have tv! lol. teaching about a god in a public school is not a well rounded education. if you want genuine well roundedness, which i suspect you don't you only want to further your xtian agenda, then teach ALL religions, from wiccan, to islam to the cults.

You can't teach history without getting into religion. However, your daughter should be educated about all religions and the cultures. Everything from ceremonies to the types of food they eat.

I agree it shouldn't be shoved down her throat, but a lot of that stuff can be very interesting, if you teach it in the right way... which I don't think Mr. Lawson was doing...

This is heartbreaking.... Move here to Scotland! My science teacher basically told us intelligent design is a load of crap and no one cared... in fact I don't think there were more than 2 or 3 religious people in the whole of my year and even then they were very moderate.

Yeah, you cannot teach religion in school without disrespecting and offending people of other religions or no religion at all (atheism). Now, don't start preachin respect as you disrespect, or being offended without offending. You would be (and in my opinion are) a hypocrite.

@tallooly2007 I'm sure that the new age cult followers will always get the upper hand in the modern world today, so dont panic, the liberal agenda is getting their way right now.

Unfortunately instead of teaching kids to actually read, write , and have a drive thru understanding of mathmatics,  the kids graduating american high schools today are illiterate, incompetent to enter the real world, so beviss and butthead is an accurate discription of out educational system today.
