HouseChatt Question of the Week: "I am considering having a sunroom built on the back of my home for added living space but am worried about it being too hot. What are my options and what do you suggest?"
You will still have some solar heat gain with all of the glass and most likely your current HVAC system will not be sized to handle the added load. You can install a through-the-wall heat pump like those you see in hotels. One of these would work nicely to heat and cool a sun room. It would have to be coordinated with the design of the room as this type unit requires an area on a wall to be vented.
