http://www.driver-coaching.com - This is an onboard from Race 3 of an MX5 race at Croft Circuit showing my big crash at the Jim Clark Esses. This is a 720p adaptation of a previous video posted on Youtube.

The crash happened on lap 9. It was a very mixed race in terms of conditions. It was just spitting with rain as we went to the colecting area so I left the car as was (dry settings and tyres). It then started to rain heavier and some drivers changed to wets and wet settings. It started very wet and all those (inc me) who had started on dry setups struggled a bit. However it did start to dry and we were again on the pace and catching cars ahead. It then just started raining again.

You will see from the footage what happened. I only had the option to go left as no way to pull the car right at that speed, had the driver of the red car braked I would have got through fine but he didn't and rolled across the track into my path.

The car was a rent-a-drive from Keystone Group who run many cars in the MX5 Championship.

  • Nothing you could have done....you really have beautiful lines! Cheers

  • @ArnaudShanghai - Thanks

  • skip 2:36

  • @zeine1989 - thanks, I did include a 'skip to' time in my initial comment but its dropped onto page 2 now, still hurts to watch it (financially) :)

  • how much did the repairs cost?

  • @swtscr7 - Would havce been somewhere around £1,300 but I traded 3 weeks in one of our apartments in Tenerife so not a direct cost.
