  • This has to be one of the greatest song/dances ever made. Fosse was an absolute genius.

I did this a few years ago with my dance studio and I so want to do it again! So great to do!

Only problem; the music sounds a bit slow and not... oomphy, lol. But so good. :)

  • correction: beyonce's "get me bodied" is alot like this...this came first...

  • Love the boys' outfits. Nice smoking jackets!

  • i never get tired of seeing this number, i wish i could dance like this.

  • This is as close to perfection as I have come.

  • My studio is competing this dance. (not excatly like it though) and I a m pretty much the main girl!

  • I really need to correct myself. I don't exactly know how to word it, but there are many amazing dancers in this cast who are Broadway Vets and many more who are making their Broadway debut in this line-up. However, they learned directly from Ann Reinking and some learned from Gwen before she passed away, and if old enough, some learned from Fosse himself (more so in the original line up from 98/99.) They know a little better than you, trust me.

  • Read my other comments on this video. These were the best Fosse dancers in the world at the time who were available to be in the show at this time. The "better" Fosse dancers had already left the cast by the time this video was made, but these dancers were the top dancers available. Ann Reinking was involved in this taping & hand picked these dancers in the first place! Gwen Verdon work with the original cast and many in this are from the Tony winning cast, but some of the best are missing.

  • I saw the show from the first performance pre-Broadway to the last show on Broadway, and this show was a jewel in any case. The DVD is a disappointment as it came together finally, near the end of the run and if it weren't for Mr. Vereen and Ann, it would have never been filmed. Too bad they didn't film the original Fosse cast around 98/99. Bebe Neuwirth came into the show for a few weeks later in the run with Ann Reinking and I still have those Playbills with Bebe on the cover.

  • I loved the original Broadway cast when Holly Cruikshank (Will Rogers Follies, Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Chicago, Fosse, replacement star of Contact, star of Moving Out) was in this number. It was much tighter in the earlier years of the show. That 98/99 cast was TIGHT, TIGHT, TIGHT, then the show got a less tight as Holly Cruikshank, Jane Lanier, Mary Ann Lamb, Alex Sanchez, Scott Weiss, Liz Parkinson, Desmond, Mary MacLeod, and others left for other shows like Contact.

  • All correct. Ken left 'A Chorus Line' in fall 2007 after one year. Not sure what he's up to now, but he's still quite young and should have several show's ahead of him.

Ken's absolutely amazing. You can search 'BestArts Ken Alan' for more from him.
