@Mr19841504, because the high note is an A. I'm not a purist, but if you have a light voice and don't reach even a Bflat, you shouldn't try Manrico. I've seen this man live and i prefer Corelli's recordings and my own imagination.

Great voice, GREAT DICTION- Better than Pavarotti, who had too light voice for Manrico, and Domingo did not have the high notes.

@lazzard100, mi creda, scrivo queste cose con immenso dispiacere. Sono un ragazzo e non riesco ad emozionarmi a teatro: ho degli "standard" in testa, formatisi con le grandi voci del passato, e non sono raggiunti neanche per la metà dai professionisti moderni. Tutta la mia cultura e la mia passione operistica deriva dalle registrazioni live e dalle incisioni di anni addietro. Le assicuro che non vedo l'ora di tornare da teatro, una sera, e poter dire "Ho sentito una voce straordinaria".

Di sicuro non sono state queste "piccole voci" moderne a farmi innamorare del canto lirico, senza togliere niente, per carità, alla bravura tecnica e al lungo studio conseguito anche dal signor Berti. Ma che cosa ci rimane di un'interpretazione del genere? Al massimo può uscire un "bravo", ma é difficile anche l'uso di un punto esclamativo.
