I want one for my mobile home in Ca. I hope to convert it to work on solar during the day.

The Japanese took the American designed, 47% efficient Arkla Servel ammonia gas absorption chiller, refined it, made it capable of 98% efficiency, coupled the system to thermal solar panels to further boost the heat and the result is an extremely efficient residential air conditioner with Toyota level reliability. When will Americans ever learn that "just OK" doesn't cut it? People get tired of talking to and giving all of their hard earned cast to repairmen. Now the Chinese are making them.

@MrTrainer1200 They were more common in the 1980's, and earlier. The last one in my neighborhood was pulled out in 1992. It was the loudest air conditioner in the neighborhood.
