Here is some footage that the Interactive agency (LOT 21) received from TBWA\Chiat\Day re: the Pets.com sockpuppet campaign. An online campaign was conceived by Dan Tamura and Brian Tsang using the outtake footage. The website, purportedly made by the sockpuppet, was a like a social media site pre-friendster. Had a lot of social media hooks way back then I recall. The online site showcased some new features in Quicktime that utilized an overlay feature of Flash 4. Dubbed 'DIV' (digital interactive video), the technical concept was created by Kevin Sherman (kshermanstudios.com). Hope you enjoy these videos. The sock puppet comedian was funny. Can't believe the brazen businesses back in the first dot.com bubble. Selling 50 pound dog food over mail and burning through people's investment money. What a joke! And I had no idea about the lawsuit from the creator of the Triumph puppet. That comedian was good too. And Sifl & Olly.
