After splashdown on July 24, 1969, the Apollo 11 astronauts donned Biological Isolation Garments and went immediately into quarantine until August 10, 1969. This was a precaution against any potential "Moon germs". The Apollo 11 Mobile Quarantine Facility is on display at the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F.
