This is my first pass at constructing something other than the provided instruction sets that came with the kit. This is a machine patterned after a ride at Six Flags called the Wheelie" (a.k.a. the "Enterprise" at other parks). This was my favorite ride when I was growing up because of it's ability to consistently make my best friend ill.

It uses all three servo motors and the sound sensor (only used to start the ride). Two motors are used for lifting and one for spinning. It was built using the standard NXT kit plus some miscellaneous legos for the base / flair. The hardest part of this construction was getting the two motors to lift the spinning wheel + 3rd motor up 90 degrees. After reducing the height and weight of the wheel, and installing brand new batteries in the brick, the "Wheelie" worked as designed.

Be sure to check out my 2nd pass "Wheelie 2".

  • gear down the motor which elevates it instead of using straight drive 4/5

  • Yeah, I actually did that on Wheelie 2.0. Check out that vid if you get a chance.

  • does the ride really jump up so fast... we have one liek that in new orleans, and it goes up slow...

  • Naw, it doesn't normally jump up that fast. I've slowed down the lift motion quite a bit on Wheelie 2.0. Check out that video when you get a chance.

  • *sick* tip go slower

  • Good model ,but you should make it go slower at first, then build bu speed, and when it moves upwards yuo should do that a little more slow to add tension.

  • wow, nice job kid, nice awesome work, keep up ur good talent ^^ u can put mini figures in it to make like a cool fun fair ride for the mini figures.

  • Agree...

  • You are kinda right. A little kid can't even build it. And he doesn't even no how to explain, like at that part "this is just an adding piece." It suppose to be studs.
