Hints that Verval was Kaiser.
1) Very first scene where Keaton is shot. First he confused, then he realises and then he speaks to someone he clearly knows but just figured out 2) Verbal shot the guy in the car from distance with Keaton in the way, not bad for someone that can't even light a cig. 3) Verbal knew they were speaking Hungarian on the boat. 4) "gets this close (pointing to himself) to getting caught". Loads more subtle hints in what and how Verbal says or does things.

I cant understand how so many people don't understand this movie. The whole interrogation ,through twists and turns, explains what led to the very first scene where Keaton gets shot, this and Verbal'Sose getting into the car with 'kobayashi' at the end makes everything clear. Verbal wanted to reveal as little as possible, but Kuyan would find things out. The lies were in the names that verbal mentioned. Verbal was the criminal mastermind known as Kaiser Souse

Ok i loved the film it was just fuckin suberb, great twist, BUT!! my question is (sorry if its a dumb question).. was Verbal really the DEVIL?? so many referances " this guy is protected by the prince of darkness" "the greatest trick the devil ever pulled" "how do you shoot the devil in the back"???
