Summit better tread lightly...that's all i'm sayin 0_o
Info on the possible director of New Moon:

It's my guess that he WILL be the new director. Who would turn down that kind of money & opportunity? I just hope he's the right fit.
I can't say that I'm thrilled about it, but he may be exactly what the film needs. Here's to hoping!

"The Twilight Before Christmas"

which ultimately falls on the director. As for the budget I mean 50 million may not be ideal but at the same time again there isnt much cgi in this movies there isnt many wolf trasnformations and it isnt the focal point of the movie(There isnt much to this movie action wise anyway). Chris Wietz also has worked with CGI before and will do a fine job with that part of the movie. As for Summit they are a business and need to keep an over head cause not all movies make money like that.

i mean really kevin smith has better camera work o_O (he has bad camera work on average). They didnt give Catherine the boot. They gave her an option. They didnt make it easier on her but at least they didnt throw her out completely. If you want to see some one get the boot then look at Terrance Howard. The reason he was kicked out of Iron Man 2 was because they had to reshoot his scenes plus he had the biggest contract(most money). Twilight made money but was bashed by critics and fangirls

Just because something is directed at a certain demographic doesnt mean you alienate the rest of movie goers. Pixar and Dreamworks animation are the best examples. Just because their movies are targeted for kids doesnt mean they dumbt them down. Titanic which twilight gets compared to was carried by fan girls/teeange girls to huge numbers and yet it still didnt have MTV style directing actually it was well directed.

On a non movie note. That video you linked to was hilarious. And the woman's voice sounded just like Kristen Stewart.

Considering that Twilight is directed at teens which makes up the MTV target group, i think that's the only style that would have worked. I don't know what you mean about "real film making" but a documentary style wouldn't have been taken seriously considering the 'angsty' nature of Twilight. They did give Catherine the boot. They wanted her out for reasons that are now coming to light. New Moon does require fx, the correct portayal of the wolves is a huge detail that Mr. Weitz rep is riding on.

i think summit is making a good move and this director is a better then katherine. im sorry but i like real film making not that MTV style crap and twilight looked so mtv it killed me. plus they didnt give her the "boot" they gave her a time table. she wasnt comfortable with it. she said bye bye. it happens all the time in the business. as for the budget thats what they are starting at but dont rule out it increases but lets face it this isnt a high action/fx film either. Eclipse needs big money

I completely agree with all you said. Summit needs to be careful. The Twilight fanbase is one SCARY bear. o.O

So first they fire Catherine, then offer the job to a guy who make a HORRIBLE adaption of another popular book that didn't make alot of money? Summit isn't being that smart...
