The sites and sounds of the Vermont State Fair in Rutland, VT. This agricultural fair has been going for well over a century and a half, and brings about the true end of summer to the Green Mountain State.
Usually the fair begins the Friday before Labor Day, and runs 10 days until the Sunday after. Like most fairs around, they offer free entertainment to fair-going patrons. Here, racing pigs, trick-performing bears, motorcycle shows and exhibits on display are some. In addition to the traditional carnival rides and games, there are continuous cash bingo games ($1 a game). At the grandstand, nationally known recording artists can be seen (for a fee) and even an afternoon of harness racing can be found.
Stay tuned, as there is a bonus feature at the end of the video showing Route 4 westbound heading out of Rutland.
