I would recommend to everyone his most recent book, The Road to 9/11. It mainly focuses on 1973 to 2006, Watergate to the War in Iraq but it covers the American Power Structure in great detail and comes to the non-surprising conclusion that what freedom we do enjoy in our society is in danger of disappearing in a society in which you have a very small, super-wealthy minority on top and everyone else on the very bottom
