Demonstrating live webcam input on a new larger LED matrix (32x18 pixels, for a 16:9 aspect ratio).

LEDs are "Total Control Lighting" RGB pixels from www.CoolNeon.com. USB interface is an FTDI serial adapter from SparkFun.com. Code library (for C and Processing) is open source and available on GitHub:

Working on a port of this for the Adafruit serial pixels next...

  • Awesome video. Thanks for the arduino overview, it will be great to send our customers your way as an informative example. We'll be in touch when we get back to Oakland next week, Check out what I just finished making with the new LEDs i added as a video response (Josh from Cool Neon)

  • @jshhbrt : Hey there! Saw the video of the vest yesterday. Pretty trippy! And exciting to see projects like this so soon after launch...I can't imagine where folks will take it from here. All those LEDs...does the vest get warm?

Maybe it wasn't clear in my explanation, but I'm not using an Arduino; it wasn't fast enough as a "bridge" between computer and LEDs. So this is a cheap hack alternative to the Pro Controller, using just the Arduino programming adapter (but no Arduino).
