The song, Nottamun Town, as kept by the Ritchie family of Kentucky in the early past of the last century, most likely is a snippet of music from the old Mummers' plays of medieval England.
Half a century ago, Bob Dylan added new words to this eerie melody to create his scathing piece, "Masters of War".
As I learn more & more about what BP is doing in the Gulf of Mexico to cover up their tracks and to try to hold on to their millions of dollars in profits at the expense of America's people, animals and environment, one of Dylan's phrases kept repeating itself over and over in my head:
"All the money you made will never buy back your soul."
I've kept many of Dylan's most powerful phrases and changed a few of the lyrics to adapt this song to "Masters of Oil".
