(2) -in any way mean that I can find those holes myself, and that's not really my interest. My purpose is only to see if someone is willing to re-test their arguments against their own scrutiny. It's always interesting to see the reactions and responses. It may be that I'm missing the point of your argument entirely, that I am discussing something else than what we were really discussing, but that's okay, because it only means I wasn't discussing that in the first place. @shadowbrowncoat (1) You make intelligent and logical points, indeed. For me, the idea isn't about whether Desteni is true or false (the channeling, the spirits' identity or their message). That is utterly impossible for me to know, even when employing the most awesome tools of logic and retorics. My ideas/questions about Self is meant in a general manner, to test other people's openness to question their own logic. Any logic may contain holes, that are invisible until scrutinized. It doesn't-

Continued - just note that it is your willing suspension of disbelief that allows you to do that, and not everyone will have the same allowances.

I pointed out many times that I am not accusing her of anything - just pointing out the issues of the cosmology and their apparent set up. They claim all these grandiose gestures and connections, yet they fall short under simple scrutiny. They REQUIRE belief, they don't foster or encourage it...

@MrNikkudim If you could explain how "You" would exist and your "Self" wouldn't - what is "you" but not your "self"? Is it your "soul"? Is it your "memories"? Is it something outside the realms of current human understanding? If it is illogical, and thus fits through every hold in a logical argument, then how does it work? Can something exist in our plane of reality without subscribing to any of it's rules? If you want to allow their metaphysics in to your beliefs, by all means -

@MrNikkudim - if they can be called, they maintain a sentiment of the "Self" that is obviously beyond the 'simple biology' you refer to. If a person is just a name, and not an amalgamation of their life experiences (which is tempered and cooled through the language(s) they speak, and the mannerisms through which they would deal with happiness and sadness - which not solely biological functions according to Desteni's 'spirits', as they do speak of these and similar things as well... Simple Logic

I'm not claiming to know any of these answers, but it's always worth to question one's assumptions about everything, since beliefs can be and often are the only thing standing in the way of being open to otherwise unthought of ideas and possibilities. What's even more exciting is to follow the ramifications of the impossible ideas, especially of the ideas that we originally thought were impossible/unlikely/illogical. What if all of Self dies, when you die, and "you" still continue existing?

@MrNikkudim to be "Bruce Lee" (or at least the Bruce Lee that most would know, rather than just some other "Bruce Lee", or "Bruce Li" or "Brooce Lea" - if you get my intention), then by the shear self-identification of STATING they're "Bruce Lee", they are countering the notion that there is a state of Selflessness in the cosmology they claim to exist in.
