@marioescalante68 Its extremely cold something like -220C. it would freeze your throat, lungs and wont allow any oxygen pass through into your blood stream.
-
oxygen doesn't ignite, it basically makes things u ignite ignite much more violently....

"Do not try this at home, try it at an apartment! j/k. cool vid!

The fuel used in the space shuttle is liquid HYDROGEN. Nitrogen is extremely unreactive and many of its reactions absorb energy rather than releasing it. Hydrogen by comparison is very reactive and releases a lot of energy, especially when reacted with liquid oxygen.

@BHT195 it and liquid nitrogen are..... that's what is in the big red tank in front of the space shuttle, please research before putting dumb things onto the internet
-
Can you breathe in the liquid oxygen?
-
This is fake, just like the cesium/rubidium video from Brainiac. They were disappointed with the results of LOX/steel wool so they blew up the microwave, just like the bathtub.
-
and here you have a rocket motor XD
-
@BHT195 the nitrogen is the actual gas the fuels the rockets. even though purely nitrogen can't burn because it need oxygen.
I finished you answer!
Liquid oxygen is not used as rocket fuel, it used, rather unsurprisingly, as the oxidizer. Since there is no oxygen in space its needed to be carried onboard so the fuel can burn and provide thrust. Now to cancel out the seriousness of the preceding; boingo boingo whoopsey knickers.

The guy talking is Richard Hammond who also presents Top Gear.
Basically this show is an excuse to blow things up and do all the science experiments that are banned in schools in the UK now (such as the sugar monster experiment).
There's a few others in the series such as answering if you can stand on custard..
