if u are using windows 7 OS, there will be problem to run PIC18 Simulator IDE. To avoid this goto the PIC18 Simulator IDE > right click > properties > compatibility > tick on Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service pack 3 . then click on apply and then OK. That's it.
