@shababsta,Its more than competition, the 747 has a legacy, Its the highest rated passenger aircraft, the most recognizable airplane, and a FANTASTIC DESIGN, maybe Airbus should have something up their sleeves, because the 380 is one ugly inefficient design. Yet if its just a hoax , its one expensive gamble for airbus, but thats their ego.
