I thought it was wrong to demonize Scotty. His wife ran off and married her known rapist with his own father, former in-laws and friends, and the whole city cheering them on at their wedding. They should have done some justice for the character. I thought Scotty and Laura Templeton were a cute couple.

I had the biggest crush on Kin Shriner. He was in all the teen mags at the time. I was ticked off at laura for quite a while. But luke and laura were mesmerizing when on the screen. The chemistry eventually won me over, but I've always felt bad for Scotty, no matter what he does.

It really changed Scotty, Scotty was a nice good guy and then Laura choices made scotty bad.

What kind of twisted logic did the writers come up with having Laura falling in love with her RAPIST? And what kind of message does that say to anyone who was raped? That's it's perfectly natural for a rape victim to fall head over heels fo their rapist? WTF!

Not only did Laura turn her back on Scotty..but so did everyone else in PC! His family, his friends. Scotty was a character who grew up on the show(Kin Shriner was not the original, he was a young boy in the 60's that Lee was left to raise) and this lowlife mobster/rapist gets his girl and everyone along with it, his friends, hell even Lee and Gail seemed like they may have wanted to have Luke instead for a son, yes Scotty was justified and turned into a jerk for life!

By the way Kin Shriner explained in the 35th anniversary special that Laura and Scotty were the ideal young couple...til she left him for "stringbean" Luke!
